LASU Admission List 2026/2027: Portal and Clearance

The LASU admission list for the 2026/2027 session can be checked through Lagos State University’s undergraduate admission services and JAMB CAPS. A release was reported for the session on 16 August 2026, but the important confirmation is still the offer shown on the applicant’s own LASU and JAMB records.

This article covers regular undergraduate admission at Lagos State University, Ojo. It also explains the difference between UTME, Direct Entry and the LASU JUPEB category, how the current login works, what pending messages mean and what normally comes after an offer.

Is LASU admission list out for 2026/2027?

Admission processing for the 2026/2027 session is active, and candidates can already check their individual records. What matters most is the personal admission decision attached to the application rather than a general statement that “the list is out.”

A screening result is not the same thing as an admission offer. Screening tells you that the application has passed through a particular stage, while an admission offer identifies the candidate, programme and session. That distinction becomes especially useful when an applicant can log in successfully but has not yet received an offer.

Older LASU merit-list pages may still appear in search results. Their session headings should be checked carefully because a 2025/2026 list remains an old admission record even if the page itself is still live.

Our admission-list guides contain related school updates, but for LASU the applicant’s university record and JAMB admission status are the two records that matter most.

How to check LASU admission list through the university portal

The current LASU admission screening portal separates candidates by application category. The login uses the JAMB registration number and the surname recorded on the JAMB profile.

Open the LASU admission screening portal.
Select the category that matches your application.
Enter the JAMB registration number exactly as it appears on your record.
Enter your surname as recorded on the JAMB profile.
Open the applicant dashboard and review the screening or admission information available there.
If an offer appears, read the programme and any instructions attached to it before moving to the next stage.

A rejected login does not automatically mean the applicant has been denied admission. A surname entered differently from the JAMB profile, a changed letter in the registration number or the wrong applicant category can all lead to the wrong result.

That is why UTME and Direct Entry should not be treated as interchangeable login options. The university separates them because they represent different application routes. The same principle applies to the LASU JUPEB category.

Screening payments and transaction records also belong to the screening stage. They show that a payment was made, not that an admission offer has been accepted. Once screening is complete, the next instruction should come from the applicant’s own dashboard.

UTME, Direct Entry and JUPEB categories

The official 2026/2027 screening page gives a minimum UTME score of 195 and requires LASU as the first-choice institution. That figure is a screening threshold. It does not mean every candidate with 195 or above will automatically be admitted to every course.

Direct Entry applicants have their own category and qualification-verification requirements. An ND, NCE or another entry qualification may form part of the application, but the programme requirements still have to be met.

The LASU JUPEB option refers to candidates from the 2025/2026 LASU JUPEB programme who are moving into the 2026/2027 degree admission exercise. Those two session labels are not contradictory: one refers to the preparatory programme, while the other refers to the degree admission session.

Where indigeneship verification applies, it is another separate part of the process. An address, surname or claim of Lagos origin does not replace the university’s verification procedure, and completing that verification is still different from receiving an admission offer.

LASU admission list and JAMB CAPS

The university result is also worth comparing with the record on the official JAMB eFacility portal. Our JAMB portal login guide covers common sign-in problems.

Sign in to the JAMB profile connected to the application.
Open Check Admission Status.
Select the relevant examination year and registration number where requested.
Open Access my CAPS, then Admission Status.
Read the institution and course shown on the profile.
Compare the JAMB result with the LASU applicant record before responding to an offer.

On some phones, CAPS is easier to navigate after switching the browser to desktop view. That only changes the display. It does not change the admission decision.

A proposed course transfer is another stage entirely. The proposed programme needs to be understood before the candidate responds, and the final admission status still needs a separate check afterward. A transfer proposal should not be confused with the final offer.

What pending admission messages mean

Admission in Progress means the admission decision is still being processed. It is not a 90-percent guarantee and it does not come with a fixed date for the final update.

Not Admitted simply means the record being checked does not currently show an offer. It does not explain the reason by itself, and it is not a reliable way to predict whether another batch will appear.

When no offer is showing, the useful things to compare are the login details, screening completion, first-choice requirement, O’Level record and any unresolved course-transfer instruction. Direct Entry applicants may also have qualification-verification steps attached to their route.

If the LASU result and JAMB CAPS show different information, keeping both records makes the difference easier to explain. A payment does not automatically repair a mismatch between the two systems. Our school admission-status guide explains how to document that kind of issue.

Merit, supplementary and later batches

First batch, second batch, third batch, merit list and supplementary list are useful labels only when LASU actually uses them for the current admission exercise. An early update on one applicant’s profile does not automatically tell us which formal batch that candidate belongs to.

If a PDF or spreadsheet is circulated, the institution, academic session and scope all need to match the application being checked. A genuine document can still belong to an older intake or a particular admission category.

The same caution applies to screenshots shared on social media or in group chats. A cropped image can leave out the heading or programme details that make the document understandable. The personal LASU and JAMB records remain more useful for confirming an individual offer.

When will the next LASU admission list be out?

There was no complete timetable in the supplied material showing the date for every remaining 2026/2027 LASU batch. Different programmes and admission categories can update at different times, so an earlier release does not give a reliable date for every later list.

The next dependable update will come from LASU’s current admission information or a change on the applicant’s own record. Previous-session dates should not be reused as though they are a permanent annual timetable.

After an admission offer

Once an offer appears, the programme and academic session are worth checking before anything else. Where JAMB applies, the JAMB response and LASU’s own acceptance and clearance stages are separate parts of the process.

LASU’s central undergraduate admission clearance service is labelled 2026/2027 and uses a JAMB number and surname for access. That service comes after the admission stage; being able to open the sign-in page does not mean clearance has already been completed.

Academic results, admission records and identification documents may be needed during clearance, depending on the applicant category. Direct Entry candidates can also have qualification documents connected to their own route. Any name or date mismatch is better sorted out before final submission.

Screening charges, acceptance charges, tuition and accommodation are separate expenses. No universal current LASU acceptance fee or payment arrangement was confirmed in the supplied article, so the amount shown on the authorised university service is the figure that matters.

Registration, physical verification and accommodation also have their own stages. A provisional offer does not automatically mean course registration is complete or that a hostel space has been allocated.

Frequently asked questions

Should I enter my full name on the LASU login page?

No. The current candidate login asks for the surname as recorded on the JAMB profile, together with the JAMB registration number.

Does scoring 195 guarantee a LASU admission offer?

No. The 195 score is the minimum UTME threshold stated on the 2026/2027 screening page. It does not guarantee admission to every course or every candidate who meets it.

Why does LASU mention 2025/2026 JUPEB during 2026/2027 admission?

The 2025/2026 label refers to the JUPEB preparatory programme, while 2026/2027 refers to the degree admission session. A candidate can therefore belong to the 2025/2026 JUPEB set and still be applying for 2026/2027 undergraduate admission.

Is a successful LASU screening result the same as admission clearance?

No. Screening is part of the application process. Clearance comes after an offer and deals with the records required before registration can be completed.

Can I pay LASU school charges before resolving a CAPS mismatch?

A payment does not correct conflicting admission records. The LASU and JAMB details should first be compared so the programme and admission status are clear before the process moves forward.

LASU admission list 2026/2027: final note

The LASU admission list is best checked through the applicant’s own university record and JAMB CAPS. The current portal also makes the application category important, especially for UTME, Direct Entry and LASU JUPEB candidates.

The 195 UTME figure belongs to the screening stage, not a guaranteed admission score. Once an offer appears, the next steps are the relevant JAMB response, LASU’s own instructions and the 2026/2027 central clearance process.
