Check the BSUM admission list through the university’s admission status service and JAMB CAPS. Benue State University, Makurdi now uses the name Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM). Its official website and portal still use the bsum.edu.ng domain.
Last updated: 9 October 2026. Compare the university name, course, session and registration number on every result before acting on an admission message.
Current BSUM admission list information
The university has published a 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening notice. Its website also links to Check Admission Status and Admission letter/Screening Forms. However, we did not verify a current official announcement specifying a first, second or final undergraduate admission batch for 2026/2027.
Therefore, check your own university record and JAMB CAPS. An old list for a merged session, or an unaccepted-offer notice for 2025/2026, does not confirm the status of the current intake.
The latest screening extension we verified was dated 11 August 2026 and set a 31 August deadline. That date has passed. Do not treat the extension notice as evidence that a new application window is still open in October.
Also, the university’s current notice includes programme-change instructions for some applicants. If you originally chose Nursing, Mass Communication or Vocational and Technical Education, read those instructions carefully instead of only checking for a name on a list.
How to check the BSUM admission list on the school portal
Start with the official university portal. You can also reach the status service through the Admissions menu on the university website.
- Locate Check Admission Status under the admission services.
- Read the instructions and confirm the academic session.
- Enter your JAMB registration number or other applicant identifier requested by the service.
- Complete only the fields displayed for your application type.
- Submit the check and read the candidate name, programme and result.
- Save the result and compare it with your JAMB CAPS record.
The university portal did not load reliably during our source check, so this guide does not invent extra login fields or a current status-checking charge. If the form changes, follow its displayed instructions or ask university ICT staff for help.
Do not confuse Post UTME/DE Verification, Continue Registration and Check Admission Status. The first two relate to the screening application process. Completing an application or printing an application slip does not establish that the university has offered admission.
Similarly, the Admission letter/Screening Forms service may require an eligible admission record before it provides documents. An unavailable document does not by itself explain why an applicant is still waiting.
If no result appears, check the registration number, session and application type first. Save any error message if the problem continues. Then contact the university with the information needed to identify the affected record.
Confirm admission on JAMB CAPS
Use the official JAMB eFacility portal. Sign in with the email address and password associated with your JAMB profile.
- Open Check Admission Status.
- Choose the correct examination year and confirm your JAMB number.
- Select Access my CAPS.
- Open Admission Status and read the institution and course.
- Follow the current JAMB acceptance instructions for an available offer.
- Return to the record and confirm that your acceptance is saved.
If you use a phone and cannot see the CAPS menu, try desktop view in your browser. Scroll across the screen if necessary. A layout problem is different from a displayed admission decision.

Programme changes that applicants should review
The university’s 2026/2027 extension notice asks applicants for B.Sc. Mass Communication to change to available programmes in its Faculty of Communication and Media Studies. It also asks BN. Nursing applicants to change to other science programmes, particularly in the Faculty of Science or College of Health Sciences.
In addition, applicants for Vocational and Technical Education are directed towards programmes in the Faculty of Technology and Industrial Studies, especially Industrial Technology. Review the university’s notice for the options relevant to you before making a course decision.
These directions do not mean that every affected applicant automatically has admission into another programme. You still need to meet the new course requirements and check the offer recorded by the university and JAMB.
If CAPS shows Transfer Approval, read the proposed programme before responding. Check its required subjects and decide whether you want to study it. Afterwards, return to Admission Status; a transfer decision alone does not finish acceptance of an admission offer.
Also, compare the course names across both systems. If one record shows an old choice and the other a new offer, ask admissions staff which action remains outstanding. Do not register courses while the admitted programme is still unclear.
What each admission message means
Admitted: A current offer appears in your account. Verify the institution and programme, complete acceptance and keep the result for registration.
Admission in Progress: Your record has not yet reached a final offer. This message is not a guarantee and does not support a percentage prediction. Continue checking while the exercise remains active.
Not Admitted: No offer currently appears on that record. A later offer may become available, but nobody can promise that it will. Review your application and qualifications so that an incomplete record does not remain unnoticed.
If the university portal shows admission while JAMB does not, confirm your O’level or A’level upload and any transfer action. Then contact the university with evidence of the two results. JAMB’s final approval and the university’s selection are related stages, so a temporary difference needs investigation rather than an assumption.

Merit and supplementary admission batches
The BSUM admission list may develop in stages as the university considers eligible applicants and available places. A merit list generally means an initial selection, while supplementary offers may address further candidates or remaining vacancies.
However, we have not verified a current official timetable for a second, third or final 2026/2027 batch. Do not attach a predicted date to those labels or assume that every pending applicant will receive a later offer.
Check the session carefully when reading archived notices. The university website contains admission information from older sessions, including merged intakes. Those records can be useful history, but they should not be presented as this year’s release.
Use our admission list updates to compare other schools. Base your decisions on actual offers and confirmed deadlines rather than an expectation that a later list must appear.
What to check when admission is still pending
First, confirm that the university appears correctly as your first-choice institution in JAMB. The current screening notice required that choice or a completed change to the university. Review the record after any change of institution.
Next, check your screening application slip and qualification uploads. The university expressly requires O’level or A’level results on JAMB CAPS. An attachment in a school application does not automatically complete that upload.
Also, review the subjects and credits for your intended programme. The 2026/2027 notices set different application scores for different programmes. A general minimum score is not a guarantee of selection, and an application threshold is not the same as a final admission offer.
If you changed programme following the university’s directions, check that the intended course appears consistently in your records. Keep the acknowledgment and evidence of the change in case admissions staff need to review them.
Direct Entry applicants should confirm their qualification details and any verification required from the awarding institution. If a record remains incomplete, ask the responsible institution how to resolve it rather than waiting for another batch alone.
After the university offers admission
Complete JAMB acceptance for the correct programme and print the admission letter when the accepted offer becomes available for printing. Then follow the university’s current instructions for its admission letter, screening forms and registration services.
Prepare the documents requested for clearance and keep originals, photocopies and receipts together. Compare names, registration numbers and course details before presenting them. Raise a mismatch with admissions staff early.
Next, confirm the official acceptance and tuition charges for your intake. The screening notice’s ₦2,000 application charge is not an acceptance fee. This update does not establish a current acceptance payment amount or deadline.
Finally, check the approved registration and resumption notices before arranging accommodation or travel. Follow the order given for clearance, payment, account activation and course registration. An offer is the start of these steps, not the completion of all of them.
Frequently asked questions
Are BSUM and MOAUM the same institution?
The university now uses Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi. The existing official website and portal retain the bsum.edu.ng domain.
Is the 2026/2027 list fully released?
We did not verify an official notice confirming every current batch. Check your personal admission status on the university service and JAMB CAPS.
Should Nursing applicants only wait for another list?
The current university notice asks BN. Nursing applicants to change to other science programmes. Read that instruction and review suitable options rather than assuming that waiting alone will resolve the application.
Does the screening fee pay for admission acceptance?
No. The application charge and any later acceptance payment serve different purposes. Use the current official invoice and instructions for each stage.
What if the portal is unavailable?
Keep your application evidence, try again through the official service and check JAMB CAPS meanwhile. If the issue persists, contact university ICT or admissions staff with the error and your registration number.
