Witspot’s editorial standard is straightforward: answer the reader’s question first, use reliable sources, explain what the information means and make the next step clear. The publication is managed by Masnet.
Sources for current information
For admissions, fees, deadlines and requirements, priority goes to official institution websites, admission portals, JAMB and relevant education regulators. Official announcements may be supported by reliable secondary reporting where necessary. Another blog’s table is not sufficient proof of a school fee or departmental cut-off mark.
Confirmed facts and estimates
An announced general cut-off mark is different from a departmental score, a screening aggregate or an unofficial prediction. Articles should identify those differences and should not invent requirements where an institution has not published them. Previous-session details must carry the correct session instead of being presented as current.
Useful explanation and original writing
Information should be rewritten in original language and supported by practical explanation. Articles should not claim visits, interviews, personal experience, statistics or qualifications that have not been established. Length is determined by the reader’s question; filler and repeated keywords do not make an article more useful.
Updates and corrections
A Last Updated date should change only after a meaningful review or revision. An old article should not be made current by simply replacing the year in its title. Corrections should address the incorrect detail, check the applicable session and remove obsolete instructions.
To report an issue, email witspot.org.ng@gmail.com with the article link, the detail concerned and an official source where available. See the contact page for guidance.
