Check the UI admission list for 2026/2027 through your University of Ibadan admission account and your own JAMB CAPS record. The official UI portal displays current Post-UTME results and admission cut-off marks. Those notices establish screening information, rather than a confirmed offer for every candidate who sees a result.
A current official announcement identifying separate first, second and third undergraduate batches was not verified in the pages reviewed. Use your personal record to establish the institution, course and decision. This guide covers portal access, pending outcomes and the steps to prepare after an offer.

How to check the UI admission list through the school portal
Visit the official UI undergraduate admission portal. Its public login instructions identify the JAMB registration number as the username and the surname as the password at first login. It also provides an account-recovery link. Use your current password if you have already changed it.
- Read the news updates and confirm the session and entry route.
- Enter the JAMB registration number connected to your UI application.
- Use your surname at first login, or the password already set for your account.
- Sign in and read the services and notices available to your record.
- Distinguish a screening result from an admission decision; check the institution and programme in any offer.
- Save the relevant result or admission document and compare an offer with JAMB CAPS.
The portal tells applicants not to include a hyphen when using a compound surname for the initial login. Follow that instruction where it applies. A registration-number example displayed on a page does not define your admission session: use the number on your own application.
This review did not enter a candidate account or verify a private menu labelled “admission status.” Consequently, follow the services actually displayed after login. An application receipt, screening score or cut-off PDF is not an individual admission letter.
For a forgotten password, use the portal’s recovery route. Avoid creating a second application to solve an account problem. Keep your application acknowledgement and payment reference available when asking the official admissions team for help.
How to check the UI admission list on JAMB CAPS
Open the official JAMB e-Facility service and choose candidate login. Sign in with the registered email address and password for the JAMB profile connected to your application. The UI surname instruction does not mean that your JAMB account uses the same password.
- Open the admission-status or CAPS service shown on your dashboard.
- Select the applicable examination year and confirm your registration number where requested.
- Read the response and check that the institution is the University of Ibadan.
- Confirm the programme and any conditions attached to an actual offer.
- Follow JAMB’s current acceptance or rejection instructions after reviewing the details.
- Keep the confirmed record and obtain the admission documents needed for registration.
Available services can differ by profile and cycle. If an old guide shows another layout, follow the controls now supplied in your account. Our JAMB portal login guide explains general account access.
On a phone, desktop-site view may make a hidden menu visible. A page that has not loaded does not give an admission outcome. When UI and CAPS records disagree, save both responses and ask for clarification. See our school admission-status guide for wider checking problems.
Cut-off marks and the UI merit admission list
UI’s official 2026/2027 cut-off table separates merit figures from catchment and Educationally Less Developed States categories. Read the column that applies to the published criterion and your course. These figures should not be mistaken for a list of candidates already admitted.
For example, the table gives a merit figure of 80 for Medicine and Surgery, 74.5 for Nursing Science and 70.375 for Pharmacy. These are the figures displayed in UI’s admission cut-off table, not raw UTME marks out of 400. Consult the complete table for your course rather than applying one programme’s threshold to another.
Meeting a published score is only one part of an admission exercise. Subject requirements, qualifications, screening and available places can still matter. A merit description should not automatically be treated as another name for the first batch.
First, second, third and PDF list updates
An admission list identifies candidates offered places for a specific session and route. Universities can communicate decisions through individual accounts or public documents. You do not need to wait for a forwarded PDF to inspect your official personal admission record.
No current numbered undergraduate batches or later-batch release dates were verified in the official sources reviewed. An offer appearing early does not itself establish a first list, and a later offer does not itself establish a second or third list. Use the university’s actual notice for those labels.
If UI publishes a list, confirm the source, academic session and programme before searching for your name or registration number. A historical release notice or 2023/2024 document cannot confirm a 2026/2027 offer. Check the course as well as the name, since applicants can share names.
What your admission response means
An offer displayed
Read the programme and conditions carefully. Complete the required response through the current authorised process, then check that it has been recorded. Do not assume that an email about screening or a displayed score is the same as an admission offer.
Admission in Progress
The outcome remains pending. It is not a guaranteed place, a 90% probability or a promise of approval within one month. Check genuine outstanding requirements and messages while waiting for a final decision.
Not Admitted or a proposed transfer
“Not Admitted” means that no offer is currently shown in the record being viewed. It does not diagnose the cause or guarantee that a later offer will arrive. A transfer proposal is a separate decision: read its course details and respond through the approved process if you choose to proceed.
Why an offer may be missing from the UI admission list
Start by confirming completion of the application and screening for the correct route. UI’s 2026/2027 general instructions require applicants to have attained 16 by September 30, 2026. Check the specific subject and qualification requirements for your programme as well.
For College of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy programmes, the current instructions specify five relevant O’Level credits at one sitting. For other programmes, applicants presenting two O’Level results need at least six relevant credits. Read the complete course requirements; the sitting rule alone does not establish eligibility for every programme.
Then check the results in the JAMB record. JAMB’s shortlist support guidance identifies missing uploads, the institution’s recommendation and unaccepted transfers as checks when a school recommendation has not appeared on CAPS. Results entered on a university form should not be assumed to exist in the correct JAMB record.
A pending response alone does not prove that your course is full, your score is too low or a geographical selection rule caused the outcome. Investigate any specific message with the relevant office. Keep practical alternatives instead of relying on an automatic approval date.
After UI admission: acceptance and clearance
Obtain admission records and confirm the payment instruction
Once an offer is confirmed, complete the required JAMB response and obtain the admission documents requested by UI. The university’s 2025/2026 acceptance notice required candidates to generate CAPS admission letters before paying. It named a ₦50,000 non-refundable acceptance fee for that session.
That amount and its November–December 2025 payment window are historical instructions. They do not confirm the fee or deadline for 2026/2027. Read the notice and bill supplied for your current offer, then retain the acknowledged payment receipt.
Prepare for document checks
The previous-session acceptance guide requested O’Level results and checking PINs or serial numbers, followed by presentation of original credentials to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at an announced date. Use the current checklist to confirm the documents, venue and appointment that apply to you.
Compare names, birth details, results and course information before submitting them. Resolve an inconsistency through the appropriate university or JAMB channel. A provisional offer does not remove the requirement to satisfy the university and programme’s entry conditions.
School fees, accommodation and resumption
Follow the current clearance decision and registration instructions before making the next payments. Confirm the school-charge bill for your programme and student category. Acceptance, school fees and accommodation may be separate charges; paying one does not settle the others.
Apply for hostel accommodation through the current allocation process if needed. Admission does not guarantee a space. Check the fresh-student resumption notice before travelling and retain evidence of each completed registration stage.
Frequently asked questions
Is the UI admission list out for 2026/2027?
This review verified current screening results and cut-off notices, but not named first, second or third undergraduate batches. Check your personal UI and CAPS records for an admission decision.
Does meeting the UI cut-off mean I am admitted?
No. Compare the relevant course and category, then check an actual admission decision. A score threshold and an admission offer are different records.
What is my initial UI portal password?
The portal instructs first-time users to use their surname. Your username is your JAMB registration number. Use your current password once it has been changed.
Can I use the same login details on JAMB?
Do not assume so. JAMB candidate login uses the email address and password for your JAMB profile. The school’s initial surname instruction applies to the UI portal.
Is ₦50,000 confirmed as the present acceptance fee?
The official notice reviewed assigns that amount to 2025/2026. A current 2026/2027 bill or notice must establish what your offer requires.
Does a pending status guarantee a later offer?
No. Check genuine requirements and messages while the exercise continues, but do not rely on a percentage chance or a fixed one-month approval rule.
Conclusion
Use the UI admission list guidance to access the correct accounts, distinguish screening information from an offer and prepare for registration. After confirmation, follow the current acceptance and clearance notice for your session. Browse our Admission Lists archive for related guides.
