UNILORIN Admission List 2026/2027: How to Check

The UNILORIN admission list for 2026/2027 is out on JAMB CAPS. Candidates who applied to the University of Ilorin should sign into their JAMB profile to check their individual offer, then follow the university’s admission and registration instructions. Check the course and session shown in your record before accepting admission.

This guide covers UTME and Direct Entry checking, first and subsequent batch updates, the meaning of admission statuses, and the steps after an offer. Keep your JAMB registration number, profile email and university application details ready. A message sent to another applicant does not confirm your own admission.

How to Check the UNILORIN Admission List on JAMB CAPS

JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System, known as CAPS, is the main place to check your approved undergraduate offer. Use the profile attached to your application. You need the email address and password for that profile, rather than a new account created after the examination.

  1. Open the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
  2. Sign in with your registered email address and password.
  3. Open Check Admission Status from the dashboard.
  4. Select the appropriate examination year and provide your JAMB registration number where requested.
  5. Choose Access my CAPS, then open Admission Status.
  6. Read the offer status, institution and course. Confirm that the details belong to you.

If a label differs in your account, follow the admission-status options available there. You can keep a screenshot for reference, but it does not replace the admission letter you will need for registration.

On a phone, try your browser’s Desktop site option if CAPS hides part of the menu. Rotate the screen if the table is difficult to read. However, changing the browser view cannot change an admission decision; it only helps you see the available information.

For related account guidance, read our JAMB portal login guide. Our explanation of how to check school admission status also covers the wider checking process.

UNILORIN Admission List: Checking the School Portal

Use the UNILORIN undergraduate pre-admission portal for the university side of your application. This is separate from the general Staff/Student ID login on the portal homepage.

The public applicant guide tells candidates to sign in with their JAMB registration number and application password. Choose Login on the undergraduate page and use the credentials issued for your application. Then read the information and instructions in your own account.

If you paid for the application but did not receive login details, the portal has a Confirm your payment option. It asks for your JAMB registration number or email and can resend credentials after validation. Check your email folders before paying again.

The portal also warns applicants against refreshing the page during payment because that can cause repeated deductions. If a transaction is unclear, confirm its outcome before attempting another payment. An application receipt shows that you paid for an application; it does not establish admission.

For technical problems, the page lists WhatsApp messages only to 09034743757 and email to helpdesk.comsit@unilorin.edu.ng. State your application number and the problem clearly. Never send a password or bank verification code to someone offering to fix admission.

UNILORIN Admission List: First, Second and Third Batches

Check CAPS and your university account for admission updates rather than waiting for a forwarded document labelled first, second or third batch. A batch is a particular release of offers. Your personal status is the result that matters for acceptance and registration.

Applicants can receive decisions at different times. Seeing an offer before a friend does not prove that the university has announced a batch with a specific name. Likewise, one successful applicant’s screenshot cannot establish the outcome of an entire department.

If you are checking an older admission, select that examination year. Different admission sessions have separate records. Old July release dates should not be used to decide whether your present application has been approved.

What Does the UNILORIN Merit List Mean?

A merit list concerns selection under the university’s merit criteria. It is useful to understand the policy behind the term, rather than treating merit as another word for the first batch.

In its August 2026 admission explanation, UNILORIN described allocations of 45% for merit, 35% for catchment and 20% for Educationally Less Developed States. These are admission-policy shares, not an applicant’s chance of success. Candidates still need the relevant qualifications and an approved offer.

The university said merit consideration applies irrespective of a candidate’s state of origin. Therefore, living outside the catchment area is not, by itself, proof that UNILORIN cannot admit you. Do not diagnose a missing offer from your state alone.

UNILORIN Admission List: Status Messages

Admitted

An admitted status means an offer is available for you to review. Read the institution and course before responding. If they are correct and you intend to take the place, complete the applicable acceptance process and retain its confirmation.

Admission in Progress

Admission in Progress is an encouraging sign that your application is moving through the admission process. Keep checking for the approved offer. You can be hopeful without treating a pending status as an admission letter.

JAMB’s support guidance tells affected candidates to check their uploaded O’Level results, the institution’s recommendation and any unaccepted transfer proposal. Resolve an actual missing requirement rather than paying an agent to change the status.

Not Admitted

This means your record does not currently show an approved admission offer. First check the correct year and registration number. Then look for missing results, a pending transfer or a problem with your university application.

While applications are still being processed, a pending outcome can change. However, there is no fixed waiting period that guarantees an offer. Contact the admissions office about your own case if you have evidence of a mismatch between school and JAMB records.

How to Accept UNILORIN Admission

Confirm the actual offer on CAPS before accepting it. JAMB’s published procedure includes sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to the profile. Candidates who need help with access or verification should use an accredited CBT centre or JAMB office.

Accept only the course you intend to study. Afterwards, return to your record to confirm that your response was recorded. Keep the admission letter and confirmation together, because the university’s acceptance payment and clearance are separate steps.

If CAPS proposes another programme, read Transfer Approval carefully. Accepting a proposed transfer and accepting the eventual admission offer serve different purposes. Make sure you understand the new course before agreeing to the change.

Why Your Name May Be Missing

A missing offer can have several causes, so begin with checks you can actually confirm. Do not assume that the system is random or that a higher score automatically means a place is available.

  • Incorrect record: you may be viewing a different examination year or using the wrong application details.
  • O’Level upload: confirm that the required results appear on JAMB’s system as well as your school application.
  • Subject requirements: compare your O’Level and UTME subjects with the requirements for the selected course.
  • Transfer proposal: check whether a proposed course change needs your response.
  • Application completion: confirm that you submitted the required university information after payment.
  • Selection and available places: eligibility allows consideration, but it does not establish that your application has been selected.

When asking for help, describe the exact screen you see and the action that failed. Keep copies of your application slip and payment receipt. A precise question gives the office something to investigate; a general complaint that everyone else has admission does not.

After UNILORIN Admission: What Next?

Acceptance Payment and Receipts

Follow the acceptance instructions shown in your university account. Use the current invoice and keep the receipt. The amount attached to a different session, course or student category should not be treated as your bill.

Our related guides explain UNILORIN acceptance payment and printing the acceptance-fee receipt. Check current portal instructions before applying an older screenshot.

Admission Letters and Clearance

Obtain your JAMB admission letter and any university admission documents provided in your account. Prepare your original qualifications, application records and the documents listed in your clearance instructions. Direct Entry applicants should also have the qualifications used for that entry route ready.

Compare your name, date of birth and course across the records before clearance. Report a discrepancy through the official channel. Paying a fee does not correct inconsistent academic records or replace verification.

School Fees, Accommodation and Resumption

Follow the university’s order for clearance, payment and course registration. Use the invoice for your programme, and keep all receipts. Our UNILORIN school-fees guide provides related reading.

Accommodation is another arrangement to complete. An admission offer does not automatically allocate a hostel bed. Check the application and allocation instructions before paying, and read our UNILORIN hostel-allocation guide for the process.

UNILORIN’s October session notice sets registration for October 5–23, 2026 and the start of Harmattan Semester lectures for October 19, 2026. Follow the instructions issued for your programme, especially if your offer appears after the session has begun. Do not use a previous session’s resumption date to plan travel.

UNILORIN Admission List FAQs

Can Direct Entry Candidates Use JAMB CAPS?

Yes. Check the JAMB profile for your Direct Entry application and follow UNILORIN’s instructions for that route. Your entry qualifications and application details must match the record being considered.

Do I Need a Downloaded PDF Before Accepting Admission?

No. Use your approved personal offer on CAPS and the university’s instructions. A forwarded PDF or a browser screenshot is not a substitute for the admission letter.

Can a Parent Check the Offer for Me?

A parent can help you read the result, but protect your login details and review acceptance decisions yourself. Confirm that the course and institution match what you intend to study.

Does a High Score Guarantee a Merit Offer?

No. A score must be considered alongside the course requirements and the admission process. UNILORIN’s policy explanation does not turn a particular score into an automatic admission letter.

What If My Application Payment Is Successful but My Login Fails?

Use Confirm your payment on the undergraduate portal and check the email attached to your application. If the problem continues, contact the listed technical support with the transaction details.

Conclusion

Check the UNILORIN admission list through your own CAPS record, confirm the course and complete acceptance when an approved offer appears. Then follow the university’s payment, clearance and registration instructions. You can browse our admission-list guides for related updates.
