Last updated: October 4, 2026. This policy explains how personal information is handled on witspot.org.ng. Witspot is an independent education publication managed by Masnet. For privacy questions, email witspot.org.ng@gmail.com.
Information you send by email
If you email Witspot, your email address, message and any information or attachments you provide are received through the contact email service. This information is used to respond to the enquiry, review a correction or handle the request. Avoid sending passwords, verification codes, payment-card details or unnecessary identity documents.
Comments
Where comments are enabled, WordPress collects the information entered in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser information. The comment and display name may appear publicly. The email address is used for comment administration and is not displayed as part of the comment.
If you choose to save your details for a future comment, your browser may store comment-related cookies. Avatars are enabled on this site: an anonymised string based on an email address may be sent to Gravatar to check for an avatar. Its handling of that information is described in Automattic’s privacy policy.
Technical information and Google tags
The website and its hosting services process technical information needed to deliver and protect pages, such as IP addresses, request times, browser details and requested URLs. WordPress also uses cookies for signed-in administration and related account functions.
The site currently loads a Google tag through Google’s Site Kit plugin. Google receives technical information when that tag is requested; cookies, identifiers and usage information may also be processed according to the tag’s configuration and your browser settings. See Google’s privacy policy and its explanation of cookies for information about Google’s handling of data and available controls.
Service providers and external links
Services involved in hosting, email delivery, website administration and the features described above process information as needed to provide those services. Some providers may process data outside your country. If you follow a link to another website, that website’s own privacy policy applies. A link alone does not give Witspot access to the account you hold on that website.
Retention and your requests
Enquiries are retained as needed to handle the request and maintain an appropriate record. Published comments and their associated information may remain while the comment is retained. Technical records follow the relevant service provider’s retention settings.
You can ask what personal information Witspot holds about you or request a correction or deletion by emailing witspot.org.ng@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the request relates to your information. Some records may need to be retained for security, administration or legal obligations.
Cookie controls, children and policy changes
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser and use the privacy controls offered by Google. Restricting cookies may affect features such as sign-in or saved comment details. Parents or guardians can contact Witspot about a child’s personal information that may have been submitted to the site.
This policy will be revised when the site’s features or information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies its latest revision.
