IMT admission list: which programmes are covered?
MySchoolGist’s August report identifies National Diploma and UNN-affiliated degree applicants. Those qualifications should remain distinct. A degree offer is not an HND offer, and an ND list cannot establish that every higher-diploma applicant has received a decision.
IMT’s official website lists ND, HND, part-time and degree programme routes. It also identifies the relationship with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in its public material. That establishes the need to use the appropriate qualification when checking; it does not prove that all routes share one release or deadline.
Read the programme heading on your application and any returned offer. If the title simply says IMT admission list, look further for the session and qualification. A broad headline should not decide which documents, checking service or registration conditions apply to you.
Checking an ND or affiliated degree offer on CAPS
Use JAMB e-Facility to sign in to your own account. Open Check Admission Status and the CAPS admission view for the relevant examination year. Read the decision together with the institution and course displayed.
Compare the result with the route you actually applied for. An ND course and a degree course can have related names while leading to different qualifications. If the record does not match your intended application, obtain clarification before accepting or paying a programme-specific charge.

Use the official IMT school checker
The IMT Admission Result Checker is linked by the institution’s website. The address uses the spelling supplied by the school; changing a word in that address can lead to the wrong page.
- Have the application number issued for your own programme ready.
- Read the current checker instructions and available payment option.
- Use the PIN or serial details requested for your legitimate record, where applicable.
- Select the checking action provided by the form.
- Confirm the qualification, session and decision in the result.
The presence of payment, PIN and serial fields does not establish a universal current checking charge. Nor does it prove that every applicant must buy a scratch card. Follow the current programme instruction or ask IMT’s admissions support before making a payment for access.
Keep any authorised invoice, checking reference and receipt. If a credential does not work, explain which service issued it and what response appeared. Buying unrelated credentials from a third party is not a useful way to trace an application.
HND applicants need their own decision
Check the HND application record through the school route identified for that exercise. HND admission builds on an earlier ND qualification, so a fresh ND offer in CAPS cannot settle the current higher-diploma decision.
Prepare the relevant ND result, O’Level documents and any industrial-experience or transcript records the department requests. Use the current programme’s requirements rather than carrying a previous session’s grade exception, fee or deadline into this exercise.
If a transcript is still outstanding, trace it with the issuing institution and retain the dispatch reference. A receipt for a transcript request and confirmation that IMT received it are different records. Ask which document remains missing before assuming a release has excluded you.
Part-time and continuing-education routes
IMT’s official website distinguishes continuing-education and part-time routes from its full-time and degree services. Read the study mode on your own application and offer before using a checking instruction written for another category.
Ask the school which JAMB registration and admission documents apply to that mode. A timetable designed for working applicants is not evidence that admission paperwork can be ignored. Use the current route rather than assuming ND full-time and part-time procedures are identical.
Also compare the mode on any fee invoice. A programme or course change can affect registration conditions. Resolve a mismatch before paying so that the offer, account and invoice refer to the same approved course and qualification.
What an unfinished CAPS message means
Admission in Progress, Recommended and Pending show that the displayed decision has not reached a final offer. They do not establish a guaranteed place. A promised percentage chance or a fixed completion date should not be attached to those messages.
Not Admitted means there is no displayed offer at the time of checking. The wording alone does not explain whether a record is incomplete, still being considered or affected by another issue. Review your own application evidence and seek case-specific guidance.
A checker login error is different from a pending decision. If you cannot reach the correct account, resolve access first. Save the exact error and the date checked, while hiding passwords and any private credential in screenshots used for support.
School and JAMB results that differ
Compare the institution, qualification and course on both records. A school result for HND and a JAMB record from an earlier ND admission are different stages; they should not be treated as a current contradiction without checking the application route.
For an applicable current ND or degree offer, preserve dated copies if the two systems differ. Ask the admissions unit what recommendation, verification or approved course update remains outstanding. Paying a school charge cannot, by itself, explain the JAMB record.
Review the academic information supplied during screening and any recent course or institution change. If a transfer proposal appears, read the proposed qualification before responding. Keep evidence of an approved correction so later clearance follows the proper record.
Batches, merit categories and circulated lists
A batch label should come from the relevant school notice. Do not assign a first or second batch based on how quickly your result appears. ND, degree and HND routes can have separate releases and verification arrangements.

An application slip, admission letter and clearance approval record different stages. Keep each document required for your route and retain the originals even if scans were uploaded. If a record is unavailable, ask how to obtain it through the authorised service.
No universal 2026/2027 acceptance fee or deadline was verified for all IMT programmes. Use the offer and invoice for your own course. If a deadline has passed, obtain current guidance rather than assuming a general extension or automatic cancellation.
Fees, hostel arrangements and resumption
Confirm the applicant identifier and purpose of each invoice before paying. Checking access, application processing, acceptance, tuition and accommodation are separate services. A receipt for one does not establish that the others have been completed.
If a debit has no matching receipt, trace the existing transaction using its reference and the stated school support route before paying again. Keep readable copies of the invoice and receipt, especially where a centre made the submission on your behalf.
