The GSU admission list for 2026/2027 should be checked through your own JAMB CAPS record and the university’s official admission notices. Gombe State University’s public admission page currently displays 2024/2025 and earlier undergraduate lists. Those files do not confirm a 2026/2027 offer or the release of every batch for this intake.
Last updated: 9 October 2026. A current general release notice remains unconfirmed in the official material available for this update. However, you can still check whether an individual offer has appeared in your JAMB account. Compare the institution, course and examination year before acting on any result.
GSU admission list: what is currently confirmed?
GSU’s official admission page contains undergraduate lists grouped by academic session. It includes a 2024/2025 UTME list, older first and second batch notices, and previous Direct Entry and supplementary lists. This makes the session heading essential: a genuine university PDF can still be the wrong document for your application.
The existence of an older first or second batch does not establish the release date or number of lists for 2026/2027. Similarly, a page’s recent crawl date is not the publication date of the admission notice inside it. Read the actual session and announcement before treating a file as new.

A list names candidates offered provisional admission. It does not replace acceptance, credential checks or registration. If a notice gives a deadline, follow that notice rather than a date copied from an earlier intake.
How to check the GSU admission list on the school website
Open the official GSU admissions page. Find the undergraduate section, then look for a notice carrying the academic session you applied for. Keep UTME and Direct Entry records separate where the university provides different lists.
- Read the document’s title, session and any accompanying instructions.
- Open the relevant list only when its heading matches your intake and admission route.
- Search with your JAMB registration number where numbers are shown.
- If the file uses names, try your surname and then confirm the other identifying details.
- Check the programme beside your record; a similar name alone is not enough.
- Save the relevant page and its instructions for your own reference.
On a phone, the PDF search control may be hidden in the document menu. If a search finds no match, check whether the file downloaded completely and whether you selected the correct session. Do not interpret a failed download as an admission rejection.
GSU also links an undergraduate registration service from its website. Registration and list checking are different tasks. Use that service when the current university instructions direct admitted candidates there; do not borrow a default password from an older intake.
How to check GSU admission status on JAMB CAPS
Use the official JAMB eFacility portal. Sign in with the email address and password for the JAMB profile linked to your application, rather than another candidate’s account.
- Choose Check Admission Status from your profile services.
- Select your examination year and supply your JAMB registration number where requested.
- Open Access my CAPS.
- Choose Admission Status in CAPS.
- Read the institution, programme and status displayed on your record.
- Follow the current acceptance or rejection instructions if an offer is available.
If the side menu is difficult to see on a phone, try the browser’s desktop mode. A blank area or welcome screen does not itself mean Not Admitted. Our JAMB portal login guide explains account-access issues; use your own examination year despite the older year in that guide’s address.
Keep your login details private. Someone else’s screenshot can explain where a menu is located, but it cannot establish your own admission result. Always read the offer inside your account.
What the admission messages mean
Admitted means an offer is available on the record you are viewing. Check the university and course before accepting it. Afterwards, confirm that acceptance has been recorded and print the admission document available through the official service.
Admission in Progress means the process has not produced a final offer on that screen. It does not mean you have a guaranteed place, and it cannot responsibly be translated into a 90 percent chance of admission.
Not Admitted means there is no current offer on the record. It does not explain the reason by itself. The application may need attention, the university may still be considering candidates, or selection may not favour the applicant. Check the evidence rather than assuming one explanation.
Also review Transfer Approval when another programme is proposed. A course transfer response and acceptance of a final admission offer are separate stages. Return to Admission Status after responding to see whether a final offer has become available.
Why your name may be missing from the GSU admission list
Start with the academic session and admission route. A Direct Entry applicant may not appear in a UTME-only document. Likewise, an old PDF cannot answer a current-session question even when the university name is correct.
Next, check your O’level subjects and grades against the requirements of the programme. Confirm that JAMB has the results on your CAPS record; uploading a file to a university application does not automatically complete the JAMB upload.
Review your institution choice, course and screening application as well. A payment receipt shows that a transaction occurred, but it does not prove that every application stage was submitted or that admission was granted.
Where a school record shows an offer but CAPS does not, ask the university about the recommendation and check whether JAMB approval or a transfer response is pending. JAMB’s published guidance identifies these as checks to make when the two records differ.
Selection can also depend on programme requirements, available places and the admission criteria for the intake. First, second, third and supplementary batches
Use the batch name printed on GSU’s current notice. A merit list is an initial selection, while a supplementary list covers another stated selection exercise. Neither term promises admission to every applicant who remains unlisted.
A first-batch result also does not establish when a second or third batch will appear. Historical GSU lists show that supplementary and Direct Entry notices have existed, but the university must confirm what applies to 2026/2027.
Continue checking official notices and your own CAPS record when no final offer is available. However, do not pay anyone who claims to place your name in a later batch. Our admission list updates cover other institutions when you need to compare an actual alternative offer.
What to do after a GSU admission offer
First, complete the required JAMB response and keep your admission evidence. Then read the university’s instructions for acceptance, clearance and registration. A university admission letter and a JAMB admission letter serve different purposes; obtain the documents requested for your route.
Prepare your O’level results, JAMB documents, identification and any additional credentials named in the current clearance instructions. Direct Entry candidates should also prepare the qualifications supporting that application. Check that names and other identifying details agree across the records.
Before paying, confirm the current university invoice, charge description and deadline. This admission-list update does not establish a 2026/2027 acceptance fee or tuition figure. Avoid a personal account supplied in a comment or an old payment instruction copied from another intake.
Finally, follow the approved order for clearance, school fees, course registration and resumption. Check accommodation availability separately: an admission offer does not automatically reserve a hostel space. Keep receipts and confirmation slips until registration is complete.

Is the GSU admission list for 2026/2027 officially confirmed here?
No current general release notice is confirmed by the older lists on the public admissions page. Check your individual CAPS record and a new GSU notice for this intake before treating a release claim as established.
Can I search a GSU PDF by name only?
You can search the names shown in a relevant PDF, but confirm any available registration number and programme too. A name match without other identifying details can belong to another applicant.
Is the password from an older registration guide still valid?
Do not assume so. Use the current university instructions or account-recovery service. A password associated with an earlier session should not be presented as the default for 2026/2027.
Does Admission in Progress guarantee an offer?
No. It indicates a pending stage rather than a final offer. Confirm uploaded qualifications, any transfer proposal and the university’s recommendation when your record needs attention.
When will the next GSU batch appear?
Use a date announced by GSU for the relevant intake. No fixed next-batch date is established by this update, and an older February date is not a current announcement.
