UNILAG Admission List 2026/2027: How to Check and Accept

The UNILAG admission list for 2026/2027 is out on JAMB CAPS. University of Lagos applicants should check their personal offer, confirm the programme and follow the university’s instructions for their entry route. An approved offer in your own record is what you need for acceptance and registration.

This guide covers UTME and Direct Entry checking, merit and subsequent batches, pending statuses, course transfers and the steps after admission. Keep your JAMB registration number and application details ready before opening the checkers.

How to Check the UNILAG Admission List on JAMB CAPS

JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System, known as CAPS, shows the approved undergraduate offer. Use the profile attached to your application, with its registered email address and password.

  1. Open the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
  2. Sign in with your registered profile details.
  3. Choose Check Admission Status on the dashboard.
  4. Select the correct examination year and enter your registration number where requested.
  5. Open Access my CAPS and then Admission Status.
  6. Read the institution, course and status before responding to the offer.

If your account displays different menu labels, follow its admission-status options. On a phone, Desktop site can help when the navigation is hidden. You may also need to scroll across the page to read the whole record.

Check the year carefully, especially if you have used the profile for an earlier application. An older offer cannot establish your 2026/2027 outcome. Save useful confirmation records, but obtain the admission letter required for registration as well.

Our JAMB portal login guide explains related access steps. You can also read how to check school admission status for the wider process.

Checking the UNILAG Admission List Through School Records

Use the university’s official admissions notices to reach the service for your present stage. UNILAG’s application portal and student-registration portal serve different purposes. A screening application is not the same task as enrolling after admission.

For application records, follow the undergraduate route on applications.unilag.edu.ng. Use the credentials attached to your application and review any instruction in the account. Keep UTME and Direct Entry records separate from Foundation Studies, postgraduate and part-time applications.

After an approved offer, follow the fresh-student notice for studentportal.unilag.edu.ng. The university’s published registration guidance uses the JAMB or application number for identification. Follow the password and account instructions issued for your session.

Do not create a duplicate application to solve a login problem. Compare your number with the application slip, check the email used for registration and ask the appropriate office about the exact error. Our UNILAG portal guide offers related reading.

UNILAG Admission List: First, Second and Third Batches

A batch is a release of offers, while CAPS displays the result for one candidate. Check the university’s notices and your account for additions. Your friend’s admission does not establish your own outcome or prove that every applicant in a department has received a decision.

If you receive an offer, review it promptly instead of waiting for a social-media post announcing a batch number. Likewise, search the session and programme heading before relying on a forwarded PDF. An old list can contain genuine names and still be irrelevant to your current application.

For a document published by the university, use Ctrl + F on a computer or Find in page on a phone. Search your registration number and compare the course. A matching name alone is insufficient where candidates share similar names.

What Does the UNILAG Merit Admission List Mean?

Merit describes the basis of selection, rather than automatically meaning the first release. UNILAG published its 2026/2027 UTME merit cut-off marks on September 16, 2026. The table distinguishes merit from catchment requirements for individual programmes.

Compare the correct course and selection category. Meeting a general application minimum is different from meeting a programme’s aggregate requirement. Even a published cut-off table is not your personal admission letter.

Our UNILAG cut-off-mark guide covers that related topic. Avoid applying a threshold from another course or session to your record.

UNILAG Admission List: Requirements and Missing Offers

The university’s 2026/2027 UTME notice requires five relevant O’Level credits at one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics. It also requires the relevant results to be uploaded to both JAMB CAPS and the UNILAG portal. Uploading to one platform does not complete the other task.

The O’Level upload deadline was extended to August 24, 2026. That date has passed. If you submitted an application, check that the required upload is reflected in the records used for consideration.

Direct Entry candidates have a separate application exercise. The university further extended its 2026/2027 DE submission deadline to October 6, 2026. An application submitted through that route should be checked against the DE instructions and qualifications, rather than the UTME test process.

For a missing offer, work through these checks before assuming the system is random:

  • Confirm the correct examination year and registration number.
  • Check that the school application was completed and submitted.
  • Confirm the O’Level uploads and required subject combination.
  • Review any course-transfer proposal awaiting your response.
  • Compare the entry route and programme requirements with your qualifications.
  • Ask about a specific mismatch if the school and CAPS records differ.

Eligibility allows consideration; it does not guarantee selection. Scores, qualifications, selection categories and available places all belong to the admission process. Living outside the catchment area alone does not establish why a personal offer is missing.

What the UNILAG Admission Status Means

Admission in Progress

Admission in Progress is an encouraging sign that your application is moving through the process. Keep checking for the final approved offer and prepare your documents. Treat confirmation as the point at which you can proceed with the applicable acceptance instructions.

JAMB’s support guidance directs candidates with pending records to check O’Level results, the institution’s recommendation and unaccepted transfer proposals. These checks can reveal an unresolved requirement. There is no fixed waiting period that guarantees admission.

Not Admitted

Your profile does not currently show an approved offer. Check the record and requirements above, then continue following official instructions while processing continues. Do not pay an agent to guarantee a change of status.

Admitted

An offer is available for review. Confirm that the course and institution are correct and decide whether you intend to take the place. Then complete the JAMB response and university registration steps.

How to Accept UNILAG Admission

JAMB’s published acceptance procedure includes sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your profile. An accredited CBT centre or JAMB office can assist with verification and access problems.

Confirm afterwards that your response was recorded. If CAPS proposes a different course through Transfer Approval, review that proposal carefully. Accepting the transfer enables further processing; responding to the eventual admission offer is a separate step.

Follow UNILAG’s institutional instructions after JAMB acceptance. Generate any required payment advice through the university’s portal and retain receipts. A screening payment made during application should not be mistaken for a later registration bill.

After UNILAG Admission: Clearance, Fees and Resumption

Prepare the documents requested in the fresh-student registration notice. These include academic results and admission records, with the relevant entry qualifications for Direct Entry candidates. Keep your application slip and identity records together.

UNILAG’s published registration guidance also covers a birth certificate, secondary-school testimonial, state-of-origin certificate and a reference letter addressed to the Registrar. Read the current notice for the required format, copies and appointment arrangements.

Compare names and programme details across your documents before clearance. Report an inconsistency through the appropriate official office. Present original credentials where requested; a payment receipt does not replace academic verification.

The university requires toxicology screening as part of registration and states that a positive result can lead to withdrawal of admission. Follow the designated testing and submission instructions in your fresh-student notice.

After the required clearance, complete faculty, departmental, payment and course-registration steps in the stated order. Use the invoice issued for your programme and category. Our UNILAG school-fees guide provides related information.

Accommodation needs its own allocation and payment arrangement. Admission does not automatically secure a hostel bed. Check the university timetable and our UNILAG resumption guide before planning travel.

UNILAG Admission List FAQs

Can Direct Entry Candidates Check CAPS?

Yes. Use the JAMB profile for the Direct Entry application and follow the university’s separate DE instructions. Check the qualifications and programme attached to the record.

Do I Need a PDF Before Accepting an Offer?

No. Review your approved personal offer on CAPS and follow the university’s instructions. A downloaded list cannot replace the admission documents required for registration.

Does a Post-UTME Result Confirm Admission?

No. It is part of the selection process. You still need an approved offer and must complete acceptance and registration.

Where Can I Ask About a Record Mismatch?

Contact the admissions office through its published channels, including admissions@unilag.edu.ng. Describe the exact difference between the records and provide the relevant application reference. Keep your account password private.

Conclusion

Check the UNILAG admission list through your own CAPS record, review the course and complete acceptance when the offer is approved. Follow the university’s clearance, fee and registration instructions next. Browse our admission-list guides for related releases.
