UNIBEN Admission List 2026/2027: Status, CAPS and Clearance

For the UNIBEN admission list for 2026/2027, check your personal JAMB CAPS record and the University of Benin’s official admission instructions. A current official notice confirming separate first, second and third undergraduate batches was not established in the sources reviewed. This guide therefore does not announce those batches as released.

The university’s October 2026 notice concerns JUPEB foundation programmes. Its detailed undergraduate acceptance notice covers 2025/2026. Neither notice should be renamed as a 2026/2027 undergraduate list. The steps below explain where to check an offer, how to handle a pending result and what to prepare for clearance.

How to check the UNIBEN admission list on JAMB CAPS

Open the official JAMB e-Facility service and choose the candidate login. You need the registered email address and password for your own JAMB account. Keep your registration slip available so that the examination year and registration number are easy to confirm.

  1. Sign in to the account connected to your admission application.
  2. Open the admission-status or CAPS service displayed on the dashboard.
  3. Select the applicable examination year and provide your registration number where requested.
  4. Read the admission response and confirm the institution and programme.
  5. If an offer appears, review its details before following the current acceptance or rejection instructions.
  6. Keep the confirmed record and obtain the admission documents required for registration.

JAMB’s service page explains that available options can differ by profile and service cycle. Follow the controls actually shown in your account. An old screenshot may help you recognise a section, but it should not override current instructions.

If you need help accessing the account, our JAMB portal login guide explains the general route. On a phone, try desktop-site view if the menu is hidden. A blank page or loading error does not establish that you have been rejected.

Checking through UNIBEN’s university portal

UNIBEN’s official notices endorse the University of Benin portal. The October 2025 acceptance guide identifies an applicant login using a JAMB registration number and the applicant’s existing password. It then describes moving to a student account for clearance after admission processing.

That is a previous-session guide, rather than confirmation that every 2026/2027 account will display the same sequence. Open the appropriate undergraduate route and read its session label before signing in. A JUPEB application, postgraduate form or established student account is a different service from checking a regular undergraduate offer.

The older article directed candidates to a WAeUP checker using an applicant reference and surname. That checker could not be verified during this review. Do not assume that its old form fields remain the current route. Use the university-endorsed portal and current notices to identify the service that applies to your record.

If the school and JAMB show different courses or outcomes, save both results and ask the admissions office to clarify them. Do not treat an application acknowledgement, screening score or payment receipt as a final admission letter. For wider checking problems, see our school admission-status guide.

UNIBEN admission list: first, second, third and merit batches

A batch label should come from a university announcement for the correct programme and session. An offer appearing early in an account does not independently prove that a first list has been published. Likewise, an offer appearing later does not establish a second or third batch.

The sources reviewed did not verify numbered 2026/2027 undergraduate lists or a release timetable for later batches. Continue checking genuine notices during the admission exercise, but do not rely on a promised supplementary offer. Checking frequently does not change the selection decision.

If UNIBEN publishes a PDF, verify its source, title and academic session before searching for your name or registration number. Match the programme as well, since another applicant can share your name. A circulated 2023/2024 list cannot confirm a current offer.

A merit description refers to the institution’s selection criteria. It should not automatically be treated as another name for the first batch or a list based only on high JAMB scores. Screening, qualifications and available places may also affect selection.

What a pending admission status means

Admission in Progress

This is a pending outcome, not a guaranteed offer. It does not provide a reliable “90% chance” of admission or promise approval within a month. Check outstanding requirements and current messages while waiting for an actual decision.

Not Admitted

No offer is currently displayed in the record you are viewing. The message alone does not identify the reason or prove that a later offer will arrive. Check your details, the current admission exercise and any documented issue, while keeping realistic alternative plans.

An offer or proposed course change

A final offer and a proposed transfer are different stages. Read the programme, requirements and conditions before deciding. Respond through the authorised process and check that the result is recorded. Never let someone accept a different programme simply because they have access to your account.

Why your name may be missing from the UNIBEN admission list

Start with the application itself: confirm the session, entry route and completion of any required screening. Then review the subject combination, O’Level results and qualifications for your course. General eligibility does not guarantee selection for a particular programme.

For an institutional shortlist that has not appeared on CAPS, JAMB’s support guidance identifies result-upload issues, the school’s recommendation and unaccepted transfer messages as checks to make. A result entered on a university application is not proof that the matching JAMB record has been completed.

Ask for an explanation where the portal gives a specific problem. A pending message alone does not establish that catchment rules, a full course quota or a low score caused your outcome. Those were possible concerns in the old guide, but they must not be presented as a diagnosis of every missing offer.

Keep screening acknowledgements and payment references for tracing genuine problems. Give the official support team your application reference and a clear description. Do not publish your password or result-checking codes in a public group.

After UNIBEN admission: acceptance and online clearance

First verify the offer and complete the required JAMB response. Then follow the university’s current acceptance and clearance instructions. An admission offer, acceptance payment and completed clearance are separate stages; finishing one does not automatically complete the others.

The 2025/2026 acceptance notice described an email-linked transition from applicant credentials to a student ID, followed by clearance in the student account. It also gave session-specific payment instructions. Use that notice as historical context, and follow the instructions supplied for your present offer rather than copying its payment restrictions or deadlines.

Acceptance charges published on the university website

UNIBEN’s public clearance page displays a total of ₦80,000 for College of Medical Sciences candidates and ₦60,000 for other candidates. The displayed table is not labelled with an academic session. These are published reference figures, not independently confirmed 2026/2027 bills. Check the charge assigned to your programme before paying.

Keep the invoice and receipt, and confirm that the university has acknowledged the payment. Do not confuse the acceptance charge with tuition, accommodation or the separate JUPEB application fee. Paying a screening charge also does not establish admission.

Prepare documents and request clearance

The public clearance guidance calls for academic results and verification details, evidence of age and origin, JAMB records, acceptance evidence, declarations, a guarantor’s document and a suitable photograph. Check the complete list and file requirements in your current clearance account. Make sure your names and programme agree across the documents.

Uploading files alone does not finish the process: the university’s guidance requires a clearance request. Its published procedure describes online processing, followed by collection of the signed eligibility document on resumption. Once cleared, candidates proceed to school-charge payment and course registration, with adviser validation where required.

School fees, accommodation and resumption

Obtain the school-charge bill for your course and student category. Keep each payment reference and complete the required registration stages. Resolve a failed transaction through the official channel before paying again; a bank debit alone does not prove that the student record has been credited.

Apply for hostel accommodation through the current allocation process if you need it. Admission does not guarantee a bed space. Finally, check the resumption notice for newly admitted students before travelling. Returning-student dates and an older academic calendar may not apply to you.

Frequently asked questions

Is the UNIBEN admission list out for 2026/2027?

A current official numbered undergraduate list was not verified in this review. Check your personal CAPS record and the university’s current notices for an offer. The October 2026 JUPEB announcement is a separate admission route.

Must I find a public PDF before accepting an offer?

No. A confirmed personal admission record can identify your offer without a public PDF. Verify the institution, programme and conditions, then follow the authorised response procedure.

Can I reuse an old WAeUP checking link?

Do not assume that it remains the current route. This review could not verify the old checker. Use the portal endorsed in current university notices and the instructions for your admission account.

Are the displayed acceptance charges confirmed for my session?

The public table lists ₦80,000 and ₦60,000 by candidate group, but does not label a session. Your current university bill should confirm the amount applicable to your programme before payment.

Does submitting clearance documents mean I am cleared?

No. Submit the required request and wait for the university’s clearance decision. Keep the approval record and complete the subsequent payment and course-registration stages.

Will a pending status change within one month?

No fixed one-month timetable was confirmed. Check genuine outstanding requirements and official notices, but do not treat a pending status as a promise of admission.

Conclusion

Use the UNIBEN admission list guidance to check your own offer, distinguish genuine undergraduate notices from other programmes and prepare for registration. Once the offer is confirmed, complete the required response and clearance stages before making travel arrangements. Browse our Admission Lists updates for related guides.
