How to Check the FUTA Admission List on JAMB CAPS

JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System, commonly called CAPS, displays the approved undergraduate offer. Use the profile attached to your application, rather than another candidate’s account.

  1. Open the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
  2. Sign in with your registered email address and password.
  3. Select Check Admission Status from the dashboard.
  4. Choose the correct examination year and enter your registration number where requested.
  5. Open Access my CAPS, then Admission Status.
  6. Review the institution, course and decision before responding to an offer.

If the menu is hidden on a phone, try Desktop site or rotate the screen. Follow the admission-status labels in your own account if its layout differs from an older screenshot. Changing the browser view helps you read the record; it does not change an admission decision.

Check the year carefully if your profile includes an earlier application. An old offer cannot establish your present outcome. Save useful confirmation records and obtain the admission letter required for registration.

Our JAMB portal login guide and school admission-status guide explain related access steps.

Checking the FUTA Admission List Through the University

The official FUTA undergraduate admission search is a separate university checking route. Its current availability and session could not be verified in the sources reviewed. Use CAPS to check your personal decision, and follow the university service’s displayed instructions if you can access it.

  1. Open the university’s admission-information page.
  2. Confirm the session and the application category the service supports.
  3. Supply your own UTME, Direct Entry or application details as requested.
  4. Submit the search and review the personal result.
  5. Read any instructions provided for the programme and session.

Keep the school record and CAPS decision together when following acceptance instructions. A screening result or application receipt alone does not replace an approved offer. Likewise, a returning-student login serves a different stage from admission checking.

If the number is not recognised, compare it with the application slip and check that you selected the correct route. Record the exact error before contacting the university. Our FUTA portal guide provides related information.

FUTA Admission List: Screening Requirements to Review

Current reports of the university’s 2026/2027 screening extension notice give a minimum UTME score of 180 for eligible first-choice applicants. They also cover Direct Entry candidates who chose FUTA as first choice. A screening minimum is different from a guaranteed admission score for every programme.

Candidates must have five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings. The notice also requires candidates to be at least 16 by September 30, 2026. Compare the additional subjects and qualifications required for your programme.

The extended registration and JAMB O’Level-upload deadline was July 31, 2026. That date has passed. Review your completed screening application, submission records and result uploads against the exercise for which you applied.

The university says candidates who are not screened will not be considered for admission. Therefore, a payment receipt should not be mistaken for a completed screening submission. Keep the registration form and relevant acknowledgement records.

For a further exercise announced by the university, follow its own programmes, requirements and deadlines. Do not assume an earlier general deadline applies to every later application route. Our FUTA Post-UTME guide provides related reading.

FUTA Admission List: Merit, First and Subsequent Batches

A batch describes a release of offers, while your personal record establishes whether you have received a place. Check CAPS and university notices for additions instead of relying on a forwarded message about a numbered batch.

Applicants may receive decisions at different times. A friend’s successful result does not prove that every candidate in a department has been admitted. Review your own approved offer promptly rather than waiting for an unofficial batch announcement.

If the university publishes a list document, first read its academic session and programme heading. Next, search your registration number using Ctrl + F on a computer or Find in page on a phone. Compare the course and identifying details.

A matching name alone can be misleading where applicants have similar names. Likewise, an authentic list from an earlier session cannot confirm a current offer. Retain the personal admission documents required for acceptance and clearance.

What Does the FUTA Merit Admission List Mean?

Merit concerns the basis of selection. It is not automatically another name for the first batch. Scores, qualifications, programme requirements, selection categories and available places all belong to the admission process.

Our FUTA cut-off-mark guide provides related information. Meeting a general application minimum allows consideration for the relevant stage; it is not a personal admission letter.

Understanding Your FUTA Admission Status

Admission in Progress

Admission in Progress is a positive sign that your application is moving through the process. Prepare your documents and continue checking for an approved offer. Use final confirmation when completing the applicable acceptance instructions.

For pending records, JAMB’s support guidance identifies O’Level results, the institution’s recommendation and unaccepted transfer proposals as checks to make. There is no fixed waiting period after which every pending record becomes an offer.

Not Admitted

Your record currently has no approved offer. First confirm the year and candidate details. Then check screening completion, required uploads and any proposed course change. Continue following official instructions while processing continues.

Admitted

An offer is available for review. Confirm the institution and programme, decide whether you intend to take the place and complete the response procedure. Keep the confirmation and required admission documents.

Why Your Name May Be Missing

A missing offer can have several causes. Start with the parts of your record you can confirm instead of assuming selection is random or that a high score guarantees admission.

  • Confirm the examination year and registration number.
  • Check that the screening application was submitted, rather than only paid for.
  • Review required O’Level results and uploads.
  • Compare your subject combination and qualifications with the programme requirements.
  • Check for a course-transfer proposal awaiting your response.
  • Report a specific difference between school and JAMB records through the appropriate office.

UTME and Direct Entry candidates should use the requirements for their own route. Selection categories and available places also matter. However, your state of origin alone does not establish the reason for a missing personal offer.

How to Accept FUTA Admission

Review the institution and programme before responding to an offer. Follow the current acceptance or rejection instructions JAMB provides for your record. An accredited CBT centre or JAMB office can assist with access and verification problems. Confirm the recorded outcome after completing the response.

After responding, confirm that the decision was recorded. If CAPS proposes another programme through Transfer Approval, read the course before agreeing. Accepting a transfer enables further processing; responding to the eventual admission offer is a separate action.

Next, follow FUTA’s institutional acceptance instructions. Generate any required bill through the designated university service and retain receipts. A screening payment made during application should not be mistaken for a later acceptance or registration charge.

After FUTA Admission: Clearance, Fees and Resumption

Prepare the documents requested in the current fresh-student notice. These cover academic qualifications, admission records and identification, with relevant entry qualifications for Direct Entry applicants. Follow the exact list, format and copy requirements issued for your registration exercise.

Compare names, registration numbers and programme details across your records before clearance. Report an inconsistency through the appropriate office. Present original credentials where requested; paying a bill does not replace academic verification.

Then complete student-account, fee-payment and course-registration steps in the stated order. Use the invoice issued for your programme, level and student category. Retain confirmation records and completed registration forms.

Accommodation requires a separate allocation and payment arrangement. An admission offer does not automatically secure a hostel bed. Finally, check the university timetable and our FUTA resumption guide before planning travel.

FUTA Admission List FAQs

Is the 2026/2027 List Available on CAPS?

A September 21, 2026 education report states that the list is available on CAPS. Check your own course and decision before proceeding; a release report does not establish that every applicant has an offer.

Can Direct Entry Applicants Check Their Status?

Yes. Use the profile attached to the DE application and the university search for your own registration number. Follow the requirements for that entry route.

Must I Wait for a PDF Before Accepting?

No. Review the approved personal offer and follow the university’s instructions. A downloaded list does not replace the required admission documents.

Does a Post-UTME Result Confirm Admission?

No. It belongs to the screening and selection process. You still need an approved offer and must complete acceptance and registration.

Conclusion

Check the FUTA admission list through your own CAPS record and the university admission search. Review the course, complete acceptance after an approved offer and follow clearance and registration instructions. Browse our admission-list guides for related updates.
